I graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and started at Tomah Veterinary Clinic that year. I most enjoy interacting with my staff and clients and their animals (and I do enjoy helping a good porcupine quill victim). Outside of life at TVC, I enjoy gardening, taking care of my chickens, and baking/cooking (I’m a self-proclaimed food geek). My household includes my husband, Tom, our three dogs Haley, Mildred, and Matilda, along with a small herd of Herefords and a flock of chickens. Fun fact about me: I grind my own whole wheat flour and I can sometimes create an entire meal consisting of foods that have been grown on our farm.
I graduated from University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. I started working here in the Summer of 2004 (so 13 years). I most enjoy the fact that no day is ever the same and I am always meeting new people and patients. In off hours I enjoy reading, crochet, and fishing. My household includes my dog and my cat who run the place. Fun fact about me: I like big band, jazz, and swing music, plus black and white noir films.
Kara Gebhardt-Tessman, DVM
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. After graduation, I worked in northern Wisconsin before moving back to the area last year. I enjoy doing routine surgeries and seeing patients for their annual exams and vaccines. Outside of work, I like to cook and bake, do DIY craft projects, and spend time at my family's dairy farm in Cashton.
I have been at Tomah Veterinary Clinic since May 2011 and I graduated from Globe University in La Crosse in December 2011. My favorite part of my job is educating clients and helping them take better care of their pets…and getting my kitten and puppy fix. My husband, Josh, and I have three pitbulls – Ruger, Roman, and Raleigh; four cats – Ebony, Onyx, Lucian, and CC; four horses – Airborn, Flicka, Nuicense, and Relic; and five cows. When I’m not working I enjoy horseback riding and hiking with my dogs. Fun fact about me: I am the clinic’s crazy cat lady.
I graduated from Globe University in March 2013 and have worked at Tomah Veterinary Clinic since graduation. I love helping the animals, but my favorite part of the job is surgery and dentistry. My husband, Tony, and I have many animals at home, including our four dogs (Tucker, Smootchy, Tuff, and Tapout), six horses (Breezy, Remmy, Izzy, Missy, Roany, and Pepsi), two cats (Toot and Lilly), seven cows, and 12 chickens…oh, and a saltwater fish tank! I enjoy horseback riding and spending time with my husband and our daughter when I’m not working. Fun fact about me: I currently enjoy working with and riding my horses and learning about equine health and reproduction. I also enjoy music – I play guitar and sing (for fun).
Krys Hartman, CVT
I graduated from Globe University in La Crosse in December 2015 and I have worked at Tomah Veterinary Clinic for just over a year. My husband, Kurt, and I have a 5 year old Pug mix named McGee, and a 5 month old Tortie named Aida. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and boating; spending time with my family and being on the farm, cuddling my cat and dog, and traveling. At work, I enjoy seeing all the puppies and kittens grow up, educating clients, and making the client/pet bond better. Fun fact about me: I lived in Germany for 4 ½ years and went to about 15 different countries during that time.
I have worked at Tomah Veterinary Clinic for 12 years as a veterinary technician and most recently, the triage technician. I most enjoy interacting with the clients and helping to solve problems. When I'm not working, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my granddaughters, mowing lawn, and painting. I live with my husband, Greg, our son, Mike, our two dogs, Jade and Tank, five outside cats, and a lot of cows and calves...oh, and some chickens. Fun fact about me: I can be very creative - enjoy cutting hair and painting.
I have worked at Tomah Veterinary Clinic for over 8 years. I most enjoy meeting the exuberant pets and visiting with our long-time clients that have become friends. When I’m not working, I enjoy gardening, cooking, and traveling. My husband, Tim, who is an author and corporate trainer, and I have a cat, Cairn terrier, standard poodle, and a cockatiel at home. Fun fact about me: I was born on a Leap Year (February 29th) and it is fun to explain to people that I am “technically” a teenager.
I have worked at Tomah Veterinary Clinic for 3 ½ years and I enjoy meeting the animals the most. Outside of work, I enjoy creating DIY projects, hanging out with my fur babies, and spending time at our cottage doing recreational activities (four-wheeling, boating, hiking). My husband, Mike, and I have Darcy (a Papillion), Gidget, Lyza, and Violet (the 3 chihuahuas), and Riddle and Kilbourn (our two cats). Fun facts about me: I am almost every nationality. I sometimes see and talk to dead people. I am a Reiki practitioner, and I also collect stones.
I have worked at Tomah Veterinary Clinic for almost a year and I enjoy meeting and seeing all the different dog breeds we have come through our doors. My husband, Larry, and I have a sweet pitbull mix named Gwen. I enjoy cooking and sewing, and playing with my grandkids. Fun fact about me: I am related to Meinhard Raabe, the Coroner from the Wizard of Oz; born in Watertown, WI (that’s where I get my short genes!)

I have worked at Tomah Veterinary Clinic for 11 years and I most enjoy spending time with the animals. I have all 4-legged critters at my house, and when I’m not working I enjoy walking, bike riding, and fishing. Fun fact about me: I have an odd sense of humor and enjoy making people laugh. I also believe in doing random acts of kindness.

I have lived at Tomah Vet Clinic for 8 years now. I share my house with my girls during the week, but I am king of the castle during the weekends. My daily duties include loving on people and eating. When I’m not working, my favorite hobby is sleeping on my dryer. Fun fact about me: I like to dress up and I have a cat nip problem.
